Static and mobile rail straighteners
Planters Clayton manufacture a range of static and mobile rail straighteners, suitable for use in conjunction with butt welding plant machinery – producing rails of up to 366m.
With combined vertical and horizontal pressing of up to 200 and 100 tonnes respectively. These presses combine high-spec components and flexibility to quickly straighten rails wherever the service is needed. Indeed, our mobile press can be power driven on rails to the point where straightening is necessary.
Each press features a spring-loaded roller assembly designed to deflect under load. A high speed hydraulic pump unit, a press table fitted with moveable straightening blocks and a proportional control unit designed to facilitate fast approach and reduced speed pressing. Each ram comes complete with a pressure gauge, we’re also equipped to supply formers.

Designed with ease of use and safety in mind, these cost-effective units are ideal for reducing storage space and improving the handling of surplus drums and cans destined for recycling – helping to ease the increasing price of disposal.
200 Litre unit
Our 200 Litre press can crush large drums to a depth of approximately 150mm. Guides fitted to the base of the press enable accurate location of the drum in order to prevent offset loading. Operation is by means of a simple spring loaded manual control valve which only works with the guard completely closed.
If your company is regularly making use of these drums you will understand the amount of storage space they can take up.
20 Litre unit
Whereas our 200 Litre unit is hydraulically driven this smaller lightweight unit can be connected to an on-site compressed air supply. The press is operated by closing a door which initiates the rise and fall of the platen.
The platen does not operate with the door open, minimising the risk of accidents. Occupying just 0.3m² of floor space the unit is easily transported and can be moved to wherever it is required.

Vertical Lock Insert Moulding Machines
Specifically designed for insert moulding
PCL produce a wide range of standard and special purpose vertical lock split line injection moulding machines, specially designed for insert moulding. The machines can be equipped with single station, sliding table, two station shuttle or multi-station rotary tables.
All models feature direct hydraulic clamping, hydraulic ejection, two stage injection and are screw type, ensuring total compatibility with modern engineering materials including thermoset versions.
Our shuttle type machines are designed so that inserts can be hand loaded, a useful feature when moulding parts that have trailing leads, such as those used in the electrical plug manufacturing industry.
The rotary table machines are ideally suited to applications where automation equipment will be integrated at a later date, or for multi-operator use where two or more inserts are loaded into the same tools.
The full range of machines are PLC-controlled and embody special design principles such as the 'C' frame configuration of the locking head assembly – eliminating obstructions from tie bars in the moulding area.
Coupled with our high manufacturing standards, these features guarantee an efficient and reliable full production machine for use in semi or fully automatic operations.
The moulding machine’s hydraulic circuit is designed around the Cetop 3 range of valves, mounted in the valve compartment beneath the injection unit – together with the pressure line filter, variable vane pump, proportional valve and oil tank. Flow control valves are present in all the hydraulic lines, allowing for adjustable speed settings, flexibility and quiet performance.
